Now you have to determine, how to get traffic onto your website. A big challenge, indeed! Here are some sources for traffic:
- Search Engine Optimization : this is the art of securing a high ranking by search engines. It is a long process, but once it is done, it is a sure way of getting greater traffic.
- Paid advertising : you could place your ads through Adwords or Overture or one of the many other pay per click search engines.
- Free advertising : write articles and spread them over. Send them to article magazines such that people will take your articles if they are rich in content and exclusive. Everywhere you find your article; you will also see your resource box that the publisher will add as a footnote.
- Affiliates : if you have your own product, then have others promote them for you. As they find you more visitors, you can pay them a commission and they will work more.
- Joint ventures : two parties may negotiate a personalized arrangement such that another site owner promotes your product to their list or on their site in return for commission.
- Repeat visits : have interesting content in your website and collect database to send newsletters to your visitors. Have special offers and discounts. This will have people coming back to your site.
These are the basic ingredients to successful online money making. You have to blend these ingredients in the right concoction in accordance to the nature of your business to make the most out of the ocean of opportunities available online.
