Write columns for websites or publications that cater to the same audience that you are targeting. Contribute to a television program or radio or a magazine such that your audience can connect to you and you can market your products steadily and subtly.

Create information products

Distribute ezines, newsletters etc. with your knowledge and market your products simultaneously. Build your contact list and distribute well packaged newsletters to them. Include offers that moot the receivers to plunge into action before a specified time.

Present seminars

Seminars are the best ways to hit the nail on its head. People who attend seminars are those that are very keenly interested in the particular topic of the seminar. This gives you a direct opportunity to interact with your target audience.

Book yourself for speaking engagements in your line of expertise. The first step towards making a sale is generating awareness. You have the opportunity to explain face to face about your products and services. You have an opportunity to make an impact with the audience and they might just like you. Now that the audience have made a contact with you and heard you in person, they are likely to choose your products or services over those of your competitors whom they have not had a personal interaction with.

At the end of your presentation, offer special offers or discounts. Create urgency for them to take advantage of the offer on the spot. For example: get a 20% discount on all of your products plus an extended warranty of six months for purchase made, now, at the venue. So when an impressive presentation, compulsive convincing is followed by an attractive offer, you have done just about enough to entice your audience to plunge into action right then. You could also give a close deadline – example: avail this offer within 3 days etc.

Handouts

People love being “given” something worthwhile. Distribute samples of your products and services. There might be associations, group meetings that are looking at donations for giving away door prizes. So you could donate a package of your products/services. Due credit will be given to your for donating as this is a lovely way to advertise freely. The package could be auctioned off or given away free in front of a bunch of people. These winners could become goodwill ambassadors of yours.

These winners are given incentives for referring others to you. They could also provide valuable feedback and some quality testimonials for you.

You don’t have to always pay for advertising space. Small efforts like these will prove to be more effective than you think! Get creative!!!
